A dismissed teacher and another person, both wanted over their links to the Gulen movement, have been rounded up during an ID control by gendarmeries on a train.
Hurriyet newspaper said Wednesday that the 37-year-old teacher, identified as A.K., and another person, B.C., were detained after gendarmerie forces found out about their arrest warrants over Gulen links after a random ID control during a train ride between Elazığ and Adana provinces.
More than 150,000 people have passed through custody while 80,000 were remanded in pre-trial detention since the summer of 2016. Meanwhile, over 150,000 have lost their jobs since then.
Most of those persecuted were targeted over their links to the Gulen movement, which the government blames for the July 15, 2016 failed coup, a claim the group denies.
