A Turkish police officer has been fired from his job and briefly put in pre-trial detention for being gay, the Deutsche Welle reported.
Speaking to the DWTurkce on Wednesday, the dismissed police officer said that he was dismissed from his job in November 2018 for being even though he had no criminal record for his 12-year-long career as a police officer.
“If I do not have a private life, what is the point? I I am currently unemployed. All I want is to be get back to my job,” the officer told the news portal.
He also mentioned that he was held in pre-trial detention for eight days after being dismissed from his job.
