At least 3 people were detained while they were reportedly on their way to escape from Turkey to Greece as refugee claimants, media reported Apr 1.
Detained near Edirne’s Yenikadın village just before they crossed the Turkey-Greece border illegally, the suspects include a teacher and two former court clerks, all of whom were earlier removed from their jobs over their alleged ties to the Gulen movement.
Turkish government accuses Gulenists of masterminding the July 15, 2016 failed coup while the latter denies involvement. Thousands of suspected Gulenists have been exiled abroad due to the crackdown back home.
