At least 18 people were detained as part of an Adana-based investigation into the Gulen movement followers, media reported Friday.
Police carried out raids at several locations in Adana, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Trabzon, Mersin, Gaziantep, Hakkari, Konya and Kahramanmaraş provinces and detained 18 suspects, among them are former military academy students, teachers, accountants and police officers.
4 of the detainees were put in pretrial detention and 10 were released on judicial control at the time writing with the remaining 4 still awaiting interrogation.
Turkish government accuses the Gulen movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt and calls it FETO, short for the alleged Fethullahist Terrorist Organization, while the latter denies involvement.
More than 511,000 people have been detained over alleged Gulen ties since the summer of 2016.
