Detention warrants were issued for 214 people as part of two separate investigations on Tuesday, Anadolu news agency reported.
An Ankara-based investigation implicated 129 military officers with suspected links to the Gulen movement along with 11 individuals who are accused of being secretive leaders of the followers of the Gulen movement within the military. 98 of the suspects were detained at the time of writing.
The other investigation, initiated in Istanbul, targeted 74 people who are accused of being part of the Gulen movement’s alleged IT network. The agency has not given out any further details.
Turkish government accuses the Gulen movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt and calls it FETO, short for the alleged Fethullahist Terrorist Organization, while the latter denies involvement.
More than 511,000 people have been detained over alleged Gulen ties since the summer of 2016.
