Turkey has exposed a United Arab Emirates (UAE) spy network that has allegedly been operating all over the country, the pro-government Daily Sabah newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) reportedly identified the leader of the UAE spy network based on testimony obtained from two other alleged spies, Samir Semih Shaban and Zaki Y.M. Hasan, who were apprehended by MİT in April of this year.
The pair allegedly came to İstanbul with the aim of detecting and gathering information on UAE adversaries.
The pro-government daily further claimed that Shaban received explosives training from the CIA.
The spy leader, identified only by his initials H.E.R., is believed by officials to have left Turkey after staying in the country with a fake ID.
