Ultranationalist Homeland Party (VP) Chairman Doğu Perinçek has called on the Turkish government to end its fight against the Gülen movement, which is accused of masterminding a coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
Speaking to Euronews Türkçe in an exclusive interview, Perinçek said that the ongoing purge is about to cross the line.
“This has to be limited with the war on terror. I believe we have reached the limit of sovling problems through imprisonment of police officers, prosecuters [and others]. There are now 70.000 people in prisons. And 104.000 Fetö members [Gülenists] were already purged from state bodies last year. I think this is enough,” Perinçek said.
Perinçek, a controversial figure in Turkish politics known for his anti-Western and anti-Gulen movement stance .
●"S-400 alımı en başta bizim başarımız"
●"TSK bugün Kemalist subayların kontrolünde"
●"FETÖ ile mücadelede polis-savcı-hapishane dönemi artık bitmeli. Bu kadar yeter"
