The national intelligence agency of Montenegro on October 2 detained Harun Ayvaz, a Turkish electrical technician, reportedly upon a request from the Turkish government.
According to an e-mail sent to Turkeypurge.com, Ayvaz is believed to be detained over his alleged links to Turkey’s Gülen group.
The claim has neither been confirmed nor denied by the Turkish authorities.
The Turkish government has launched both a domestic and a global crackdown against the Gülen group, accusing it of orchestrating a coup attempt on July 15, 2016, although the group denied any involvement.
More than 100 Gülen-linked Turkish nationals were brought back to Turkey through intelligence service operations and with the cooperation of other countries, including Kosovo, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Gabon and Myanmar.
