Detention warrants for 40 active duty and 48 former military members were issued by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday, the Anadolu news agency reported.
The suspects are being sought as part of an investigation into the Gülen movement, which is accused of masterminding a coup attempt 2016.
The movement denies any involvement.
The police reportedly raided residences in 33 provinces, including İzmir, and detained at least 60 suspects accused of membership in the movement.
