An elderly couple who lives in a village in Turkey’s Şırnak province, has not been seen in more than five days, according to a Twitter account.
The two people — Hormız and Beybün — are of Armenian origin and thus may have been abducted, the Twitter account claimed.
The claim has neither been confirmed nor denied by the Turkish authorities.
The killing and/or abduction of civilians is common in Turkey’s Southeast, where there is a heavy military presence due to ongoing clashes between the Turkish military and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
