Turkey’s coronavirus death toll has reached 4,007, after 55 more people died in the last 24 hours, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Thursday.
Turkey has conducted 34,821 more tests in the last 24 hours, taking the total amount of tests carried out so far to over 1.5 million, Koca said on Twitter, according to Reuters.
The number of coronavirus cases, meanwhile, reached 144,749 with an increase of 1,635.
Nearly 1,000 of the patients are being treated at the intensive care units of hospitals across Turkey, while 508 of them are put on ventilators.
A total of 104,030 people have been declared recovered since March, when the first coronavirus case in Turkey was announced.
