Ali Rıza Coşkun and his son Yaşar Coşkun, the owners of a fireworks factory in northwestern Turkey where a massive explosion claimed the lives of seven people on Friday, have been detained as part of an investigation into the incident, the T24 news website reported on Tuesday.
In addition, four factory employees including a manager and supervisors who were previously taken into police custody were arrested at midnight after appearing before a court.
Television footage on Friday showed a large, mushroom-shaped cloud of smoke rising from the factory, with bursts of fireworks amid the sound of explosions. Authorities are looking into the cause of the blast.
Turkish media have reported previous explosions at the same factory.
