Acting upon a complaint by Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) on Friday, the Ankara 3rd penal court of peace imposed an access ban on the website belonging to a Turkish man who has declared himself a prophet the other day.
Evrenesoğlu’s websites, which broadcast of translations of the Islamic holy book, the Quran, have been found to be inappropriate in an investigation conducted by the Higher Council of the Directorate of Religious Affairs.
The council filed a criminal complaint against Evrenesoğlu at the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, seeking a ban on his websites.
