Turkey’s Constitutional Court has rejected an application for release filed by Kadri Sancar, a 22-year-old Kurdish youngster who has been held in İzmir prison since 2015.
“I just want to die. Constitutional Court has rejected our application. My brother has been in prison since the age of 17. My mother burst into tears after receving the news,” Kadri’s brother, İslam Sancar, reported.
Sancar was reportedly arrested by Turkish security forces during the operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Dargeçit district of Mardin province in 2015. He was then put in pre-trial detention and later sentenced to 27 years in prison on terror charges. He was only 17 years old at time of incident.
Moralim çok kötü! İnanın ölmek istiyorum!
AYM'ye başvurumuz red edildi maalesef. Çok kötüyüm çok.
Kardeşim 17 yaşından beri cezaevinde. Annem haberi alır almaz saatlerdir ağlıyor. Daha önce iki defa kalp krizi geçirmiş. Artık uyku haram diyor bana.#KadriSancarTahliyeEdilsin— İslam Sancar (@islamsancar47) September 29, 2022
