Ever since the purge in Turkey started in July 2016, thousands of Turks have fled the country to different parts of the world. Among those are high-ranking Turkish diplomats, academics, police officers, teachers and many others from different walks of life. And many of them have either experienced ill-treatment in custody, or even worse; subjected to torture and sexual abuse in Turkish prisons.
