Sedat Serkan Güray, an imprisoned radio presenter who is eligible for parole, has been denied release from İstanbul’s notorious Silivri prison.
According to the Jailed Journos Twitter account, Güray became eligible for conditional release in September 2021, however has been continuing to remain in solitary confinement for over two years.
The jailed man was arrested in February 2017 for posting tweets that praise the Gülen group, which the Turkish government accuses of masterminding a coup attempt on July 15, 2016. The group denies any involvement.
