Turkish police in four provinces have raided food banks on accusiation of giving out food basics and essential items to the families of Gulenist purge-victims.
According to the mainstream Hurriyet news portal, at least 37 people were arrested in police raids.
The arrestees are accused of attempting to re-establish the Gulen group, which is accused by the Turkish government of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016. The group denies any involvement.
More than 500,000 people have been investigated over ties to the group in Turkey so far.
During the raids in Bartın province, police officers seized dozens of bottles of sunflower seed oil and bags of dry legumes, including beans, peas, lentils, and peanuts. Whereabouts of the seized items remains unknown.
