32 including spouses of post-coup prisoners detained in Sivas

At least 32 people were detained as part of an investigation in to the Gulen movement in Sivas province, on Wednesday.

Sivas police carried out raids on several locations and detained 32 people including 12 women. Some of those women were identified to be the wives of some people who were earlier jailed on similar investigations.

The suspects are accused of helping out family members of those detained as part of the Turkish government’s post-coup witch-hunt against Gulenists.

Turkish government accuses Gulenists of masterminding the July 15, 2016 failed coup while the latter denies involvement. More than 220,000 people were detained and 90,000 were arrested over Gulen links so far. At least 500,000 people were subject to anti-Gulen investigations to date.
