A mother took her 1.5-year-old child to prison with her after being jailed over alleged links to the Gulen group, which the Turkish government accuses of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016. The group denies any involvement.
According to Turkish journalist Sevinç Özarslan, a Turkish woman named Hatice Soyar, was place in pre trial detention at a prison in Edirne province on May 15. He baby, Enes, had nowhere else to go but to join his mother in prison.
Since the coup attempt, followers of the Gülen group have been subjected to a massive crackdown, with the Turkish government and pro-government media outlets demonizing its members.
In addition to the thousands who were jailed, scores of other Gülen group followers had to flee Turkey to avoid the government crackdown.
1,5 yaşındaki Enes bebek, dün annesi Hatice Soyer ile birlikte Edirne CİK'e gönderildi.
Geride 5 ve 9 yaşında iki çocuk daha var.
