At least 24 former public officials were detained by Konya and Ankara police in midnight raids for “providing moral and financial support” to the families of Gulenist purge-victims.
Among the detainees are teachers, police officers, health workers as well as 1 police commissioner.
According to the Bold news portal, police accuses the detainees of attempting to re-establish the Gulen group, which is accused by the Turkish government of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016.
The group denies any involvement. More than 500,000 people have been investigated over ties to the group in Turkey so far.
