At least 15 former public officials in Ankara and Konya province were placed in pre-trial detention on May 21 for “providing moral and financial support” to the families of Gulenist purge-victims.
Among the arrestees are teachers, police officers and health workers.
According to the Bold news portal, Turkish authorities accuses the arrestees of attempting to re-establish the Gulen group, which is accused by the Turkish government of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016.
The group denies any involvement. More than 500,000 people have been investigated over ties to the group in Turkey so far.
